What is the Difference Between Knit Fabric and Woven Fabric?

Woven fabrics are created by weaving fibers in a criss-cross pattern, whereas knit fabrics are made by looping long lengths of a single yarn. Since both types of yarn are one-way, they have visible vertical columns. The difference between the two types of fabric is the process of knitting.
